Pennies for Patients and the Leukemia Society Fundraiser at Country High

VTA members Sue Hoover and Greg Lyon and Judith Arguin, do a couple of fundraisers each year and, for this fundraiser, they selected Pennies for Patients and the Leukemia Society.

For this fundraiser, students paid a dollar to throw a whipped cream pie at any of the 3 teachers that volunteered. Students love it! Of course…. Who wouldn’t want to throw something at a teacher?????? – Judith Arguin

Take Survey to help guide bilingual education programs

In 2016 California voters passed Proposition 58, otherwise known as the LEARN – or Language Education, Acquisition and Readiness Now – initiative, which recognized the importance of providing students the opportunity to become bilingual, biliterate, and even multilingual. CTA, in conjunction with Californians Working Together, is seeking data via special survey to ascertain the number of bilingual teachers available/needed. Take the survey today. Deadline is April 14.
