They are attempting to use the courts to strike down due process, dismantle the state layoff statutes and tie teacher evaluations to standardized test scores. But circumventing the legislative process to strip us of our professional rights does not improve learning and hurts students.
On the first day, both sides presented their opening arguments and the plaintiffs brought their top witness and Superintendent of Los Angeles Unified School District John Deasy to the stand. That continues today as does cross examination.
