Unfortunately, we find ourselves in yet another devastating fire season. Sadly, it is difficult to recall a recent year that fires did not devastate entire communities or displace hundreds throughout California, including many in our CTA family. Therefore, I want to take a minute to ensure you are aware that CTA’s Disaster Relief Fund is available to any member impacted by the fires.
CTA’s Disaster Relief Fund is possible because of the goodwill of many CTA members who have made voluntary tax-deductible donations to assist fellow colleagues in need. During 2020-2021, we provided nearly $220,000 in grants to approximately 170 members for personal and professional losses. We are ready to help again.
